‘Sister Wives’: ‘Robyn’s Secret’ — She Reveals A Shocking Surprise About Her Past
Many of Kody’s 18 children have reached dating age, so he decides it’s time to talk about the birds and the bees. But instead of sitting the teens down individually, Kody saves time by asking Robyn to give the whole family a sex talk. Awkward!
Robyn surprised almost everyone when she shared what she calls the “biggest mistake of her life” with the whole family during a sermon at Meri’s house. She starts off by saying she wants to tell them a story about a girl who carelessly gave her purity away. Of course Robyn is talking about herself, and she admits in a tearful confessional that she had premarital sex with her boyfriend in college while she was going through a rebellious phase and questioning her faith.
Robyn tearfully confesses to everyone that she “took her purity and she gave it to someone who begged for it…and he didn’t respect it.”
Robyn’s sexual encounter had serious consequences because she got pregnant with her son, Dayton, 14, and felt obligated to take responsibility for her actions by marrying her boyfriend at the time — even though she didn’t love him.
“When I found out I was pregnant, I was devastated at that point. I was really scared. I spent the next nine years trying to make it right,” she says in her confessional. “I was trying so hard to love my husband at the time.”
Poor Robyn! Chastity is a very important part of the Mormon faith, so we can understand why she was so heartbroken by what happened. We’re so glad she has finally found peace and forgiven herself for her mistake. It was very brave of her to share her story with her children — and she did it all out of love because she doesn’t want them to go through the pain she suffered.
Robyn’s emotional sermon really struck a chord with some of the kids. Kody and Christine’s daughter Mykelti says, “It really made me not want to do anything. Ever.”
Meri’s daughter, Mariah, agrees that sex is something that should be saved for marriage, but Janelle and Kody’s son Hunter says he believes there’s nothing wrong with having sex when you’re in a committed relationship with someone that you actually love. Hmm. Kody better keep an eye on him!
Will Meri Brown Have Another Baby? — Kody Brown Wants Her To Decide
To celebrate moving into the new homes, Kody decides the Browns should bury a time capsule that they will dig up in five years. Everyone grabs their most prized posession, and the gang heads outside to dig a hole for the time capsule in Christine’s backyard.
After Kody’s strapping young sons abandon him to do all the work, he takes a break from digging to ask Meri once and for all if she wants to have another baby. She somehow manages to put him off again, but she warns that when they do finally have the conversation, she wants him to play an equal role in making the decision.
Poor Meri! Kody is putting so much pressure on her to have a baby, even though she’s had trouble conceiving in the past. With 18 kids, five of whom will be in college at the same time, it’s hard to imagine why Kody would be thinking about another baby, but hey — to each his own.
