Christine shared that Meri was never going to be welcome around Mykelti or her family. Why?

The drama in the Sister Wives family never seems to end. While the Brown family arguments are usually between Kody, his ex-wives, and his current wife, there is also drama in the extended family. Kody’s relationship with only wife Robyn has led to frustration and estrangement between him and several of his kids, including two of his sons with ex Janelle, Garrison and Gabe. But there also seems to be some tension between daughter Mykelti Brown, whose mom is Christine, and one of the other former wives. In this week’s episode of Sister Wives, it is revealed that one of the wives wasn’t invited to Mykelti’s virtual gender reveal party.

Christine shared that Meri was never going to be welcome around Mykelti or her family.

During a confessional, Christine revealed that former wife Meri was not invited to the virtual event.

“Our older kids choose who they want to have relationships with,” she explained. “She’s not comfortable with everybody in the family. She won’t be on any other things for Mykelti and her children.”

Mykelti expressed a ‘dream’ that the Brown family could fully reunite one day.

Mykelti didn’t address the state of her relationship with Meri during the episode, but she did talk about her happiness at seeing her family together, even if it was virtually. “I was really happy that, you know, even though there’s like strife and struggle, they’re still like, well, this is still a family, we can still try to be a family,” she said.

She also shared hope that despite the separation and changes that they would remain a “family, just different,” adding that it would be “a dream” if the family could “go back to being one unified family.”

She believes that at the end of the day, the family ‘needs’ one another.

“I think that they all need each other. I think that Robyn’s kids need Janelle’s kids and my mom’s kids and Meri’s kids,” Mykelti said. “I think that all my siblings need each other. We all need each other. I think that ultimately we all need our moms too.”

Her husband Tony also chimed in, adding, “I think it says something that they’re willing to get together for big life stuff tells you that there’s still something there, which is nice to see.”

It seems that Kody and Robyn played nice, despite all the family friction.

For their part, Kody and Robyn tried to show that their participation means that they’re willing to do the work to keep the family together. “I’m hoping that them seeing Kody and I and our smiles and our encouragement will help them to realize that I’m not the bad guy,” Robyn said.

Janelle shared that Robyn and Kody being the only relationship standing doesn’t bother her when it comes to family functions. “I think it’s great that Robyn and Kody are on this call. They are a couple. I don’t have a problem with seeing them as a couple, them participating in family stuff as a couple. It’s just what it is,” she said.

One person isn’t too keen on the idea of acting like one big happy family.

Janelle also shared that she hoped maybe there would be more opportunities for the family to get together in the same way in person instead of only being able to get together virtually. But even though she may be on board, her bestie Christine isn’t really feeling that idea.

“I’m not interested in getting back together again for something yet. All I’m going to be is cordial,” Christine said. “I would love to say I’m going to be more, but I’m not. And I’m not interested in that either.”
