Kin Shriner Revealed He Received Help From A Famous General Hospital Alum
Shriner first joined General Hospital in 1977 as Scott Baldwin, which is one of his most famous roles. He later appeared as the character in the soap’s supernaturally themed spin-off, Port Charles.
Over the years, he appeared on a variety of soaps. These include The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and As the World Turns.
Recently, the soap star opened up about a health challenge in a video shared on social media. Sharing his story on X, Shriner could be seen sitting outside in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In a black and white video, Shriner shared, “A year ago tomorrow, I had some arrogant surgeon at SCOE give me a subtalar fusion. And he botched it.” According to the Cleveland Clinic, the surgery fuses the bones of the subtalar joint and is usually performed to treat foot arthritis.
Following the surgery, the actor shared that he found himself unable to walk. He explained, “So, for six months, I basically couldn’t walk.”
Shriner shared that another soap opera star soon got involved to help. He continued, “So then John Stamos, my good pal, sent me over to his guy at Cedars Sinai. He redid it.” As General Hospital fans may remember, the Full House star had also played Blackie Parrish on the soap.
Currently, Shriner explained that he was undergoing rehabilitation to treat his foot. According to him, “So I’m down here in old Fort Lauderdale rehabbing this foot, every day. Every day so that I can get mobile.”
