Is Meri Brown Taking Kody To Court Over Vegas Home Proceeds?
Is Sister Wives star Meri Brown taking her ex-husband, Kody Brown to court over the proceeds from her Vegas home? The two legally divorced in 2014 but stayed spiritually married until early this year. Now, there might be some debate about family finances and the usage of them. Is Meri looking to recoup any funds? Read on for more details.
Is Meri Brown Taking Kody To Court Over Vegas Home Proceeds?
The Brown family used familial funds to help with down payments when they moved to Flagstaff from Las Vegas. For example, Kody made it well-known that this money helped with the down payment for Christine Brown’s house. The same applied to Robyn Brown’s home when they made that purchase. All four wives owned their homes in the Vegas cul-de-sac so when they sold, they helped each other out. Yet, the one exception was Meri Brown’s home, which Kody was a co-owner of. That begs the question of if Kody used her for equity since they divorced not long after moving to Vegas. Plus, will she want what she ultimately put out given back to her?
A Reddit thread was started to discuss the whole situation and what Meri Brown will go ahead and do. The OP had seen something in a Facebook group that said: “Legal Battle Brewing-Meri Brown Accuses Kody and Robyn Brown of Fraud and Coercion in Flagstaff Move.” They then wanted to know if there was any truth to this statement or if anyone had heard anything to validate the statement. Soon, Redditors chimed in with what they knew or at least what they felt.
One wrote: “Kody took all of Meri’s proceeds from the Vegas house and she got nothing in return despite paying the mortgage on her own, I hope she does take it to court and win!” Another added: “Yeah, that is messed up. He tried to do the same with Christine but she traded the land for the house. She could have fought him but it’s easier just to leave.” Of course, others knew this would not be in Meri Brown’s character as she tends to bow down to Kody and Robyn.
She Should Do It
Though she won’t, Gwendlyn Brown believes that Meri Brown and the rest of Kody’s exes should take him for all that he has. The daughter of Kody and his former third wife Christine spoke out about it: “They’re not gonna be salty or petty and try to take money from him even though they totally deserve it because he’s been spending all of their money on whatever.” She has noted that he and Robyn are really bad with money but luckily, it seems that Meri and Christine were the smart ones.
Former second wife, Janelle Brown was scared to leave as she had nothing in her name. However, it seems she had enough literally and figuratively, as she ended up exiting the marriage. Though it would be smart, it does appear unlikely that Meri will ask for anything from Kody. She did go and get the money for her B&B on her own so that proves she will let the money part go.
