‘General Hospital’ Fans Think Lulu Is Not Rocco’s Mother, Who Is?
Recent events on General Hospital have some fans guessing the soap is about to drop a bombshell concerning the true parentage of Rocco. The character’s parentage had already been the subject of a storyline before the character was born, but now fans think another twist is around the corner. In particular, some fans suspect that Rocco will learn Lulu isn’t his mother, bringing up the question of who it really is.
General Hospital Fans Have Watched Rocco Grow & Change Over The Years
Rocco was first introduced on the soap around 2010. Viewers saw the character’s birth on the soap, which him being occasionally “aged” up over the years.
Fans have also seen different actors play the character. Originally played by sets of twins, Mason Tannous took on the role in 2016, followed by O’Neill Monahan, Brady Bauer, and Finn Carr.
Recently, fans have been wondering about the character’s origins. In particular, there is some debate over whether Lulu is actually Rocco’s mother.
As fans of the soap may remember, Rocco’s parentage was a source of debate before he was even born. Dr. Britt Westbourne had originally carried Rocco and passed off Dr. Patrick Drake as the father. At one point, a DNA test claimed that Patrick was indeed the baby’s father, only for it to be revealed to have been tampered with by Britt’s mother.
A Few Fans Suspect A Character Might Even Come Back For A Family Reunion
After Patrick planned to sue for full custody, Britt then claimed Brad Cooper was the biological father. Britt then later claimed the child was conceived through an anonymous sperm donor. Eventually, however, Lulu and Dante learn that Britt had stolen one of their embryos.
That said, recent events in Port Charles have fans questioning Rocco’s parentage all over again. During a recent confrontation between Brook and Lulu, speculation came out that Britt, who passed away in 2023, could still be Rocco’s biological mother.
Fans also suspect Brook could be the one to expose the truth, after digging into medical files. In particular, Marco was also hired to look into Britt’s life.
This story could also have ramifications on the show going further. Some fans suspect the soap might even consider bringing Britt back just to reunite with Rocco. After all, as previously reported, Britt’s actress Kelly Thiebaud confirmed her return to General Hospital. However, it was unclear if she would return to playing Britt.
Some Fans Think The Soap Might Take Things In A Less Drastic Direction
That said, not all fans agree that the soap will, or at least should, go this route. As one fan noted, “Why do people think Britt is gonna be Rocco’s mother lol?” The fan agreed that the soap was instead setting up that Rocco would learn Britt is his surrogate mother and that Lulu kept it from him, noting, “That’s where this is heading.”
However, the fan also felt, “I’m just tired of the retcons, especially those that were very fleshed out on screen like the Britt pregnancy. Would be idiotic to make Rocco suddenly Britt’s son since they’ve also worked to establish his relationships with both Dante and Lulu. It’d be a disservice to themselves.”
Other fans felt that Rocco would still honor Lulu as his mother, in spite of biology or the news he was conceived through surrogacy. On X, one fan shared, “In Rocco’s conception, Lulu was a victim. She did nothing wrong. Britt was the [villain] & if anything Rocco should be mad at Dante for co-parenting w/ her & icing Lulu out. He should feel bad for Lulu. I don’t get why he would be mad at her.”
