Late General Hospital Star Johnny Wactor’s Final Film Debuts
General Hospital (GH) spoilers note it’s been one year since Johnny Wactor’s (Brando Corbin) life was taken away far too soon. Now, news has hit that the last flick he worked on will be included in the upcoming 2025 Dances with Films Festival.
The actor finished a shift at a Los Angeles bar when he was shot on May 25, 2024.
Wactor was only 37 when he passed away, and according to police reports, he was heading to his car that night when confronted by three people who were trying to steal his vehicle’s catalytic converter.
As per FOX 11, the movie profiled is ‘Ciao Mama’, which was filmed in 2022. It is scheduled to premiere at the L.A. festival at TCL Cinemas in Hollywood on June 24.
Wactor’s friend and fellow actor, Micah Joe Parker, who also stars in ‘Ciao Mama’, tells FOX 11, “It’s really important to me, and his family, that his legacy lives on for the incredible things he brought to the world.”
Parker described ‘Ciao Mama’ as a movie that centers around family, love, and friendship, which he considers directly connected to Wactor’s life.
After all, Wactor was leaving Level 8, the rooftop bar he was working for at the time, with co-worker Anita Joy in the early morning of May 25 when the incident surrounding his untimely death occurred.
As per reports, Wactor did all he could to protect Joy during the altercation.
Parker notes to FOX11 that Wactor never had an issue stepping into the fray, adding, “It’s how he went out from this world, stepping in front of his friend to take a bullet. [When that happened] I said, I’ll take the swings and arrows for him now.”
Parker went on to say that while his friend was a victim of the crime, Wactor lived his life as anything but a victim.
He states, “He was a doer. He was a dreamer. So, that’s where we’re turning the page now.”
General Hospital spoilers note that Johnny Wactor played Brando Corbin from 2020 to 2022, when the character passed away after an attack by The Hook Killer, who ended up being Heather Webber (Alley Mills).
