The Golden Bachelorette runner-up, Guy Gansert has landed a role on the long-running soap opera, General Hospital. He has already shown off his dance moves proving he could be ready for DWTS. Now, he is showing off his acting chops but is it really acting considering he is a doctor? Keep reading for more details on the part he will be playing.

Guy Gansert Lands General Hospital Role

When Joan Vassos told Guy Gansert he would not be meeting her family in the finale of The Golden Bachelorette, he was brokenhearted. He had formed a connection with Joan and was hopeful that she would be his forever person. Unfortunately for him, that did not happen and she chose Chock Chapple, who proposed to her. Fans really liked Guy and wanted the best for him, even if that meant him becoming the next Golden Bachelor. He has enjoyed his life post-Joan and even showed his dance moves off at a college basketball game.

He recently shared a photoshoot that he did on his social media and fans immediately flocked to it. They wanted to wish him well and hoped that he was in a good place. Some wondered if these were promo shots for The Golden Bachelor and were very hopeful:

  • Your killing me Guy! Handsome!! 😍 I will be happy to have a Huge Golden watch party if you’re the GUY! 🙌🔥
  • Perhaps for promoting of the Golden Bachelor? 🙌
  • One of my favorite on the show, the sweetest man, I was heartbroken with him

Regardless of what happens with that, Guy has a lot of good in his life as he landed a role on General Hospital. According to People, he will not be playing a doctor, which would be art imitating life despite just retiring. Rather, Guy Gansert will take on the role of Geoffrey, a wildlife specialist. It all started when he joked with a Bachelor producer about appearing on the soap:

“Having had absolutely no acting experience, I said [it] in — kinda — jest. Within a couple of weeks, I received an email Zoom invitation with [executive producer] Frank Valentini and [Vice President, Production & Administration, ABC Daytime, Disney ABC Television Group] Dominick Nuzzi. After a 30-minute Zoom interview, they loved the idea of a real ER doctor who made it to the final two of The Golden Bachelorette. A month later, I received an offer to be on a small one-day episode.”

Longtime Fan

Guy Gansert noted that he was a longtime fan of General Hospital and used to watch it back in college. It was an amazing change for Guy and came at the perfect time:

“This is all happening after deciding to hang up my stethoscope and retire after 35 years.”
