General Hospital fans were angry and shocked last summer when it was announced that actress Kelly Monaco was leaving the soap. She was fired after playing Sam McCall for over twenty years. What made fans even angrier was that the character was killed off, which many fans thought was disrespectful to the actress and audience.
Sam died in the hospital after donating her liver to Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins.) But it wasn’t a result of the surgery itself. Instead, someone snuck into Sam’s room and messed with her IV. But who?
After months of focus on the wrong suspect and more deaths, it finally came out that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) killed Sam. For a minute, the residents in Port Charles suspected Elizabeth Webber (Becky Herbst) as the murderer.
Fan Accuses General Hospital Of Cloning Sam & Liz With New Characters
Elizabeth Webber has been a resident of the fictional town since 1997. She was in a relationship with Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) for years before moving on to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton.)
‘Liason,’ as fans call them, eventually broke up and Jason started dating Sam. If you ask ‘JaSam’ fans, Jason was still in love with Sam at the time of her death.
One General Hospital fan took to Reddit to compare Sam and Liz’s storylines to two new characters. According to the viewer, the soap is trying to turn Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) into Sam and Liz.
“Does anyone else get the feeling that Tptb are making Sasha, Sam 2.0 while they are making Willow, Elizabeth 2.0,” the fan asked other GH fans on Reddit.
Other Soap Fans React To Speculation
The fan didn’t clarify how Willow and Sasha are like Elizabeth and Sam. It could be because Sasha is pregnant with Michael’s (Chad Duell) baby. Willow is Michael’s wife but cheated on him with Drew (Cameron Mathison.)
