General Hospital fans recently saw the return of a character to Port Charles. Notably, the character’s actor and one of their co-stars actually have a background in real-life. Not only have they appeared in projects together, but they are also a real married couple. Thanks to this, fans are wondering if a built-in romance is already in store for the soap.
Two Halves Of A Real-Life Couple Have Recently Come To General Hospital
On General Hospital, ADA Turner was introduced in a storyline where Ava was accused of pushing Kristina out of Metro Court window. Recently, Turner returned in a storyline involving Cyrus’ murder, in which Jason is a suspect.
Turner first appeared from late November to early December on the soap, However, the character, and her actress Nazneen Contractor, returned on the February 24, 2025, episode.
Contractor has had many roles in various Canadian and American projects. In particular, she is known for playing Layla Hourani on The Border, Zara Hallam on Ransom, and Kayla Hassan on 24.
Notably, Contractor is also known for her marriage to Carlo Rota. Contractor and Rota are known for appearing in a variety of projects together, including 24 and Relic Hunter.
Recently, both Contractor and Rota have also joined the cast of General Hospital. In addition to Contractor taking on the role of Turner, Rota took on the role of Sidwell late last year. With the recent return of Turner, as well as Contractor, could bring about new storylines on the soap.
As noted by Soaps, there are various storylines possible with Turner’s return. Notably, in a show that lets mobsters get off scot-free, she can offer an opposing view.
The publication suspected that Jason wasn’t going to be convicted for Cyrus’ death. However, it also acknowledged that it made sense for Turner to target Jason as a suspect. Notably, Turner makes her views clear with the line, “Unlike some people, I’m not gonna take Morgan’s word for it.”
The publication also suggested that Turner could be used for a new romantic storyline. After all, soaps are known for their love stories. In addition, Contractor’s casting already brings a certain pairing to mind.
Nazneen Contractor Recently Talked About Filming Romantic Scenes
As Sidwell and Turner’s actors are a couple in real life, it obviously has crossed a few fans’ minds to pair off the characters. After all, Contractor and Rota have appeared in a variety of projects together.
That said, Sidwell is an antagonist and a criminal. From what viewers have seen of Turner so far, she ultimately might not be interested in him. However, as the publication noted, the soap has a habit of pairing law enforcers with criminals.
Notably, Sonny has had quite a few similar love stories. After all, he’s been paired with characters like Hannah, Reese, and Claire. In fact, the publication teased that it would “thank the soap gods if she replaced Natalia in Sonny’s arms.” However, it also “[ruled] out as a potential hookup.”
For her part, Contractor also appeared on Maurice Benard’s “State of Mind” podcast. While there, the actress talked about what it was like filming romantic scenes. As Contractor noted, “I actually don’t care. And I think the reason I don’t care is because I have had to do so many of those scenes.”
