Sister Wives viewers are noticing some strong similarities between Season 18 and Season 19. Currently, Sister Wives is focusing on its “new material” but it looks very familiar. Now fans think it is a recap because Garrison Brown was a big part of the original cut.
Seeing Garrison Brown Was A Sad, But Pleasant Surprise In Sister Wives Season 19
In the latest episode of Sister Wives, fans saw many clips and footage from Christine Brown Woolley and David’s wedding. Likewise, TLC chose to show more of Kody Brown chopping down trees to escape his feelings. But many fans are saddened as they see Garrison Brown at Christine’s big day. Some fans connect that Garrison’s passing is the reason for the major recap.
Sister Wives Recaps Because Garrison Brown Was A Big Part Of Season 19
On Reddit, Sister Wives fans discuss how they are sick of watching the same stuff, but in a different new season. First, a user says, “Did we literally watch a whole season with constant recaps, flashbacks to the same flashbacks they have shown the last 3 seasons.” They go on to talk about disliking the reruns that TLC is choosing to show. Specifically, Christine Brown Woolley’s wedding since it already had a two-part special after Season 18.
- One fan knows why Season 19 feels like a throwback loop. “It’s pretty clear to me that a large portion of this season was left on the editing floor out of respect for Garrison. They must have had to fill the empty time with all of the wedding arc. Yes, it’s not wonderful to have the same things rehashed, but out of respect for Garrison’s passing and the family’s clear choice to keep it out of the show, it’s more than understandable.”
- Sister Wives fans are suspicious things got really bad before Garrison’s passing. One person adds, “And that has me wondering what awful sh*t Kody was saying to Garrison. Of most of this season had him in it then you know da*n well it was about his relationship with his dad.”
- “Though I wonder how bad things got for this amazing young man towards the end. In previous seasons (as you said) he was very vocal about his lack of relationship with Kody and I think that perhaps most of the footage of Garrison was likely him being more and more despondent and Kody being horrible. For all we know, there were very few ‘happy moments’. My heart breaks for Janelle.”
Inserting Old Scenes And New ‘Fluff’
Seemingly, Sister Wives fans are noticing TLC is only getting to the “meat” of the show here and there. The information hides between old clips of earlier seasons and new “fluff” that has biased storylines. If Garrison Brown’s footage had remained, fans fear it would have revealed the mental health struggle he had while his dad, Kody Brown, was spewing hate.
- “Kody can’t see the forest for the trees he keeps cutting down. He talks about the need to cut down a tree as it being out of some kind of need or even symbolic: I’d say it’s like each tree he cuts down is really another relationship with one of the OG wives/children he destroys.”
- “Yeah, they’re using tons of wedding filler, and a lot of Kody’s scenes were filmed more recently and slipped in with 2023 (fake family game night, the snowy driveway argument). If there’s that little usable footage, it must have been bad bad.”
- “I believe that’s what the whole snow square skit was all about. I believe they replaced more of Kody’s disgusting behavior with the whole, ‘Kody, you need to work on your relationship with your kids’ act.”
