Former 90 Day Fiancé franchise star Tiffany Franco recently opened up about her family’s tough situation due to her grandmother’s illness. TLC viewers may know the 31-year-old reality star from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 1, during which she married her husband, Ronald Smith. While the Maryland native is usually pretty upbeat on social media, her last year has been tragic due to her breakup.
Moreover, Tiffany has struggled with weight-related issues since her debut, so she opted for bariatric surgery in June 2021. Since then, the reality star has already lost about 80 pounds.
Tiffany is now returning to reality TV as a part of 90 Day: The Single Life season 3. She will be back on the small screen starting September 12, and many fans believe she will end up with Ronald. Over the past few months, Tiffany has dropped hints that she has reconciled with her estranged husband after their messy breakup in 2021.
In January, Daniel and Carley’s mother claimed to be back with her beau. Sometime later, Ronald also confirmed the reconciliation rumors by deleting his cuddly photos with a woman he was seeing at the time. Ronald and Tiffany have been posting sweet things about each other, implying they’re back together.
While Tiffany’s weight loss journey is going great, and her relationship may have healed, she is still sad due to a family-related problem. In her recent Instagram Story, she shared a picture of a fundraiser and revealed why she posted it.
The 90 Day Fiancé franchise alum wrote, “My mother started a go fund me for my grandmother,” and added that she’s been quiet about this for a while. She shared that she and her family are going through “a pretty hard time” accepting her grandma’s situation. Tiffany asked her 90 Day Fiancé viewers to share and donate to support her mother.
According to the GoFundMe page, Tiffany’s mom, Margarita Fernandez, is asking for help for her mother’s “cremation/funeral service.” She stated that her mom (Tiffany’s grandma), Yeya, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer about one-and-a-half years ago.
Yeya had three to six months to live at the time, but the family helped her live past it and kept her “happy and comfortable.” Unfortunately, her health deteriorated a few weeks ago, and doctors said “there’s nothing” they can do for her now.
Tiffany’s mom has set a goal of $4,000 on GoFundMe, as “it will cover cremation and some of the other things.” Margarita also shared that she felt terrible asking for help, but everyone has told her the path of donation is the “only way” for her in this situation.
The 90 Day Fiancé cast member shared her mother’s fundraiser to support her. Hopefully, her fans will re-share it and let the word out. Since the fundraiser’s goal isn’t too huge, it shouldn’t take long before people chime in with their donations.
Hopefully, Tiffany’s fellow co-stars can also help donate to reach the $4,000 mark quickly, and Yeya can begin her next journey. 90 Day Fiancé fans hope Tiffany and her family will have the strength to bear the grief.
