Janelle Brown Is Putting Down 'Some Permanent Roots' with a New Home After Kody Brown Split

Sister Wives star Janelle Brown shared an update about her new living arrangements in North Carolina two years after she split from ex-husband Kody Brown.

“Not West Virginia but my new home,” Janelle, 55, wrote alongside a video that showed several trees and unpaved roads on a vacant plot of land, which was set to John Denver’s song “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”

She continued, “Finally putting down some permanent roots. Doesn’t look like much yet but it will. I like the wild feel that it has now and we are planning for many acres to stay that way for the benefit of the wildlife.”

In addition to the caption, Janelle tagged Taeda Farms in the post. She founded the company with daughter Madison Brush (née Brown) and son-in-law Caleb Brush, in September. According to the business’ Instagram page, Taeda Farms is a “flower farm in the works” and is considered “halfway homesteading.”

Shortly after Janelle shared the video of her new home, several fans took to the comments section to express how happy they were for her. “Welcome to NC. We have the best of both worlds- mountains on one end and beautiful coast on the other …” one person wrote. Another chimed in, “Congratulations Janelle. I hope you find peace in North Carolina with your land and family.”

In Touch exclusively revealed that Janelle ended her marriage to Kody, 55, in December 2022. “Janelle is a strong independent woman and realized she can do it on her own,” a source shared at the time, adding that she simply “outgrew him.”

The former couple spiritually wed in 1993, and they share children Logan, Maddie, Hunter, Gabriel, Savanah and their late son, Garrison. Janelle left Kody after Christine Brown announced her split from the patriarch in November 2021. Meanwhile, Meri Brown confirmed she and Kody called it quits in January 2023. In light of the splits, Robyn Brown is his last remaining wife.

While Janelle stayed in Flagstaff, Arizona, after she and Kody called it quits, In Touch exclusively revealed that she purchased a property for $289,000 in Chocowinity, North Carolina, in March, and it was listed as agricultural for the company Taeda Farms, LLC.

The town is located less than 30 minutes away from where Maddie, 29, and Caleb, 37, live with their kids.

While Janelle is embracing her new life as a single lady, a source exclusively told In Touch that Kody is desperate to not become single himself. “Robyn has Kody wrapped around her finger and always has because she was – and is – the favorite wife,” the source shared in November. “Truth of the matter is Kody is terrified Robyn will leave him as his other wives did.”

In an attempt to keep Robyn happy, Kody has been making sure she’s taken care of. “She has nannies to help take care of the younger kids, a cook, housekeepers to keep the house clean so she doesn’t break a nail, carte blanche to spend whatever she wants when in the shops,” the insider explained.
