‘Sister Wives’ Fans Call Out Dumping Garrison, Kody, & Gabe Storyline

Over the last few seasons of Sister Wives, Kody Brown has publicly spoken about the tense relationship with his sons, Gabe and Garrison. During the COVID-19 episodes, Kody insisted that Janelle kick the boys out of her home. She flatly refused, driving a massive wedge between her and Kody.

Season 19 was initially expected to further explore that strained relationship, but Garrison’s unexpected death in March changed things in the production room.

TLC seems to have completely erased Garrison from footage and shifted course over the summer. The network likely thought they were acting out of respect for the late reality star, but fans felt angry over his erasure.

No one wanted to see Garrison or Gabe suffer onscreen again, but many Sister Wives viewers hoped to see positive glimpses of the boys this season. Read on to see what fans are saying online.

Sister Wives Fans Agree Season 19 Has Clunky Pacing

Over the years, Garrison and Gabe Brown have become incredibly popular with viewers. Fans sincerely wanted them to have closure with their previous storylines, but that doesn’t seem likely to happen now.

“Uncharted territory,” one Sister Wives viewer posted on Reddit. “With Garrison’s recent and unexpected passing, it’s understandable that altered the trajectory of season 19.

There seemed to be a story arc there, where they were going to push to the forefront the storyline between Kody, Garrison, and Gabe’s strained relationship.

But now watching this season, it just feels flat, and a lot of the episodes seem to contain more filler content than maybe what they had planned.”

The OP went on to speculate that the production team was making things up as they went along, which explains Season 19’s awkward pacing.

Viewers Hope TLC Will Make Things Right In Season 20

Garrison’s unexpected death certainly complicated matters for the production team, but viewers still aren’t impressed with how they handled it.

They still believe that the boys deserve to confront their father. Several noted that the current storytelling does a disservice to Garrison’s memory.

“Yep… and they are filming season 20 so they need to step it up, call Robyn and Kody out at the tell-alls… give Garrison some closure… this year is a s**t show,” one Redditor pointed out.

“For years now, Kody has been hellbent on being ‘Robyn’s husband’ and getting his OG kids to apologize for all kinds of imagined wrongs. I have a hard time imagining Gabe or Garrison wanting any part of that,” another added.
