Breaking: New Charges Filed in ‘GH’ Star Johnny Wactor’s Murder Case

Actor Johnny Wactor, best known for appearing on General Hospital, lost his life to a gunshot wound back in May of this year.

However, the actor’s alleged killers have since been given further charges since Wactor’s death. Notably, members of Wactor’s family have previously shared that they were unsatisfied with the original charges against his alleged killers.

Johnny Wactor Appeared on General Hospital From 2020 To 2022

As an actor, Wactor was known for playing Brando Corbin on General Hospital. Wactor first appeared on the soap in 2020, lasting in the role until 2022.

In addition to this, Wactor was also known for playing Johnny on the 2013 supernatural drama Siberia. He also notably appeared in the 2016 film USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage and the 2023 film Supercell. Posthumously, he is expected to appear in the film, American Sognare.

Tragically, the actor was killed on May 25, 2024. Wactor was 37 at the time of his death. Reportedly, he encountered three men trying to steal his Toyota Prius’ catalytic converter.

Upon realizing what the men were doing, Wactor shielded a co-worker, who he was walking to her car and was subsequently shot. The three men fled the scene, with Wactor being pronounced dead at the hospital.

After four men were arrested in connection with Wactor’s death, two of the men were charged with murder. The other two men were also given lesser charges.

According to The U.S. Sun, court records have claimed that two of them men were given additional charges in a refiled complaint. On top of their murder charges, they have also since been given an additional gang enhancement charge.

Johnny Wactor’s Family Previously Shared Their Disappointment With The Earlier Ruling

The publication identified the men as Robert Barceleau and Sergio Estrada. Barceleau was also specified as the alleged gunman and is said to be facing a life in prison.

According to the documents, Wactor’s murder “was committed for the benefit of, at the direction of, and in association with a criminal street gang.”

It was also noted to have been committed “with the specific intent to promote, further and assist in criminal conduct by gang members.”

As the publication noted, a third defendant, Frank Olano, was also given an added gun enhancement charge. He had already been charged with a count of accessory after the fact to murder. A fourth defendant, identified as Leonel Gutierrez, also pled guilty to attempted robbery and a count of grand theft.

As previously reported, Wactor’s family has previously shared her disappointment with the earlier rulings, claiming the defendants’ gang connections should have been part of the murder case.

As noted by ABC 7 LA, Johnny’s mother Scarlett shared, “I wish and don’t understand why he wouldn’t do gang enhancements. They are all clearly gang members of the same gang that will still be asked, and I am still hoping for a lot of stackable things on top of this.”
