SAD NEW! Adam Huss quit the role, Nik died in prison – Coloma had a heart attack and is recovering from surgery in real life
Even though Marcus Coloma exited the role of Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital in 2023, he’s kept himself busy. Many of his social media videos have been very funny, including his hilarious recent online series with former co-star Kin Shriner called 2 D–ks. But the actor recently shared a post that while it appeared it was going to be a gag turned out to be something very serious.
He Followed His Heart
Coloma simply posted a heart emoji on Instagram which was a clue to what he would reveal. Attached to the post was a video of him playing piano and singing quietly, with shots of him in a hospital bed interspersed throughout. He narrated his shocking personal tale: “I had a heart procedure on Monday.
For the last three or four years, there was this secret thought in my head that I was dying. And, I knew I was being dramatic but it was still there and it was depressing. And there was something wrong, but no one could tell me what it was.”
The actor continued, stating, “Finally, uh, [a] physical therapist checked my heart and he’s like, wow, that’s weird. And that opened the door. I ended up going to a cardiologist and having a procedure done, and he said, ‘In 40 years, thousands of surgeries, I’ve never seen a heart like yours.”
Coloma cheekily added, “We all knew my heart was one in a million, right?” but then shared the positive side of his story: “And the good news is now that it’s fixed, there won’t be any more problems and I should be healthy. And I’m very grateful.”
He Didn’t Skip a Beat
To many of his fans who responded, Coloma replied with a heart emoji. One follower, among the many who were glad to hear he was doing well, lovingly wrote, “So happy to hear that everything went well with your procedure & you’re doing well. ❤️.”
Another fan who could relate to Coloma’s situation shared, “You know I’ve been there. Isn’t it great when it’s over[?] I’m glad it worked. Take it easy for a while.”
Another of his followers echoed the sentiment of many with, “ Here’s to a long healthy life for you.” And mirroring our thoughts, one follower responded, “Sending you positive energy to feel better every day.” (Here’s what Coloma had to say about his GH exit.)
