Jophielle Love Opens Up About Her Return to ‘General Hospital’—What Fans Can Expect!
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Violet said her goodbyes on General Hospital with both the actors and the viewers watching them on screen grabbing for tissues during the emotional scenes. After five years in the role of Violet Finn, it was difficult for Jophielle Love to say farewell to Port Charles.
“Violet says, ‘It’s weird to feel so happy and so sad at the same time,’” Love recalled to Soap Opera Digest. “She was happy to be on her way to see her dad, and also incredibly sad to leave her new home and family at the Quartermaines. And I felt just like that on this last day. It was almost like crying while smiling… and then I realized I was the one going through that door!”
The young actress — who earned her first Daytime Emmy Award nomination during her time on GH for her original song “Shine” — knows that the fans who have supported her for the past years would also be saddened by Violet’s exit. “They are very loving,” she declared. “GH is like a family to them, too. They care for us, they care for the characters and the actors. They probably won’t like seeing Violet leaving.”
However, Violet only moved to Seattle to be with her father, Finn, as he started a new life after completing his stint in rehab. So there’s every possibility that the adorable little girl could make a return visit to Port Charles at some point in the future as Brooklyn Rae Silzer has done, bringing Emma Scorpio home for holidays and special occasions.
“I don’t know how or when, but I hope it is not in too long from now,” Love said of returning to GH. “It would be great if I could come back with my dad but as we saw, there is no way of knowing what the story will be. I could be back next year or in 10 years! In the meantime, you can see me on Will Trent, and let’s see what other projects I get to work on. I am excited to see what happens.”
