Fired Soap Star Promises To Tell Her Story
General Hospital fans were shell-shocked by the sudden firing of fan-favorite Kelly Monaco. Some of her biggest fans took drastic measures to express their disappointment and encourage the soap to rehire her. They took out a billboard in Times Square and near the studio where the soap films in Los Angeles.
Unfortunately, their efforts were in vain. Kelly Monaco hasn’t said much online about leaving the soap, but her mom revealed that the actress filmed her last scene recently. How Sam McCall exits is still under wraps, though fans suspect she will perish in an accident and her liver will save Lulu Spencer.
The actress did take to social media earlier this month to mark the one-year anniversary of co-star Billy Miller’s death. The post has since been deleted. Possibly because fans interpreted what she wrote as a vague threat to reveal backstage secrets from the ABC soap.

The actress made good on part of her promise to share more of her story. Twitter user @editsbyMare shared a screenshot of an interaction between Kelly Monaco and another internet user. The person wrote that the actress wasn’t fired, but was let go because she refused to take a pay cut.
The actress clapped back with a salty response that seemed to shed light on her firing. She wrote, “When Billy Miller was fired, Sam’s storyline stopped.”
Kelly Monaco went on to say that the show “dismantled” everything she built with Sam McCall and neither she or the audience recognized Sam anymore.
“Call it what you will…retaliation at [its] finest.” She promised to give a proper statement to address her exit from the soap opera.
