‘All My Children’ Alum Joins ‘GH’ As New Lulu Spencer
Lulu Spencer is going to look completely different when she wakes up from her coma. An All My Children alum is joining GH in the role. Keep reading for all the details.
Emme Rylan Not Returning
General Hospital began dropping hints that Lulu Spencer would finally awaken from the coma she’s been in for four years. Laura and Dante randomly visited her in the hospital. Furthermore, the show announced that Jonathan Jackson was returning as Lulu’s older brother, Lucky.
Lucky is back on-screen but is being held hostage and has yet to escape to make his way to Port Charles. But when he does, he might find Lulu on death’s door.
The comatose character is desperately in need of a new liver. Fans think she might get one soon if the show kills off Sam McCall. News broke recently that Kelly Monaco was let go after over twenty years of playing Sam.
With Lulu’s name coming up so often lately, fans were constantly asking Emme Rylan if she was returning to the soap. She was the one playing the role when Lulu slipped into a coma in 2020.
The actress took to social media to reveal that GH decided to recast the role instead of bringing her back. She played Lulu from 2013 until 2020.
All My Children Alum Joins GH As New Lulu Spencer
Rumors swirled online amid news of the recast that Julie Marie Berman, who played Lulu from 2005 until 2013, could come back. However, sources alleged on Twitter that she turned down the offer to return.
But the hunt for a new Lulu Spencer is over. TV Line broke the news on September 10 that an actress familiar to soap viewers will play Lulu.
Alexa Havins will take over the role sometime this fall. She played Babe Carey on All My Children from 2003 until 2007. She also took the character of Babe to One Life To Live. The actress married her AMC co-star, Justin Bruening, in 2005. They share three children.
The actress reunited with one of Babe’s many All My Children husbands for a Lifetime movie. She starred alongside Jacob Young (JR Chandler on AMC) in Killer Vacation in 2018. Coincidentally, Jacob Young played Lulu’s brother, Lucky, on GH from 2000 until he was replaced by DOOL‘s Greg Vaughan in 2003.
Her first air date as Lulu Spencer has yet to be revealed. What do you think of Alexa Havins in the role? Are you excited to see the AMC vet on GH? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
