Whitney Thore has been struggling with the loss of her mother, Babs Thore. She wants to focus on doing grief counseling. She reveals that her therapist suggests that she does it with her father, Glenn Thore.
The My Big Fat Fabulous Life cast member explains that her friends always find it shocking how well it seemed like she handled her mother’s death. However, she doesn’t know if that is normal. She admits to crying at the funeral. But she then went a couple of months without having a big cry. She feels “a little disconnected from those feelings.”
Whitney admits that she wishes that she felt more connected with Babs. She even wishes her mother would haunt her. She thinks that she is missing some comfort that a lot of people may feel after the death of a loved one.
Whitney Wants to See a Psychic
Whitney feels like she needs to go to a psychic. She reveals that there is a good psychic in Charlotte, NC, to whom she has always wanted to go. But she never did because some of the ones she has in town that she has been to haven’t been good.
The My Big Fat Fabulous Life cast member has been told by a psychic that she is “fat like the wild turkey.” She told the lady that she was there to learn about her future, not what she sees in the mirror.
Whitney explains that she has always heard about this woman in Charlotte named Gina. She adds that she is the “real deal” and “really amazing.” However, she never got the opportunity to meet her. So, she would be interested to see if there is any way she can connect to Babs at all.

Whitney Thore told fans that before Babs Thore’s passing, she told her that she would visit her as a red cardinal. And a few days after the funeral, she saw a red cardinal. She was happy to know that her mother was still around. However, visits from a red bird stopped.
The My Big Fat Fabulous Life castmate also had dreams about Babs. However, they didn’t happen often, and she wished they had. She even stopped feeling her mother’s presence. But when she talks to her mother in her mind, she can hear her voice responding.
Whitney hopes that by going to a psychic, she will be able to feel Babs’ presence again. She wants to be able to know that her mother is still around even when there are no signs of her.
