As Gio begins to feel more and more at home in Port Charles on General Hospital, the July 16, 2024 episode saw his little secret get closer to coming out.

Opportunity Knocks

After saying hi to Dex (Even Hofer), who showed up at the Metro Court pool in his policeman uniform, Gio (Giovanni Mazza, who recently dished on his connection with GH co-star Tabyana Ali) was greeted by Lois (Rena Sofer) running in saying she had exciting news to share. She explained her friend who works on Broadway soundtracks just lose his violinist, so she talked up her nephew and he agreed to hold a spot for Gio.

“Are you ready for the bright lights?” Lois asked, but Gio looked anything but ready. He decided to throw out any excuse he could, saying he already agreed to perform at Ava’s (Maura West) galley opening, he’s set to play at PCU, he likes his job at the pool, and he’s enjoying living in Port Charles.

Cops And Violinists

While those were all fine reasons to turn down the incredible job offer, they may not be the real one for Gio. Although he’s known to everyone as a talented violinist, he’s told only Dex about his hidden desire to become a cop.

Spoilers for the week tease Gio opening up to Josslyn (Eden McCoy) on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, so only time will tell if he reveals his secret passion to her. Of course, this could mean trauma for Trina (Tabyana Ali), who already began bonding with Gio over music and previously lost a former boyfriend in the line of duty.

How do you think Gino’s family – including mobster Uncle Sonny (Maurice Benard, who recently revealed why he had to temporarily leave GH) – will react to him wanting to become a cop? Let us know in the comments.
