General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that ever since fans found out Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was headed back to Port Charles, there’s been a lot of talk about which love interest he’d end up with.

Of course, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) were considered options right off the bat.

That’s especially true since GH announced Steve Burton’s return in a special clip featuring both leading ladies.

However, Carly feels like a less likely romantic contender now that she’s had some deep talks with Jason and they’ve established that they like their bond the way it is.

It seems Jason and Carly are firmly planted in the friend zone – at least for the time being.

That said, there could be another romantic option that’s emerging for Jason.

Sam may not be the only love interest possibility for Jason if some new story developments are any indication.

Now that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) has found Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) intoxicated and slobbering all over another woman, she looks like she’s officially done!

Liz and Finn’s relationship was already fading fast, but it seems like there’s no hope of resuscitating it at this point.

With Elizabeth’s single status on the horizon, that could change the game – particularly now that Jason is going to burst in as her hero.

Jake Webber (Hudson West) called his dad for help, so look for Jason to come to Liz’s rescue in the June 10 episode.

Jason will show Finn that he means business and will order him to let Elizabeth go when he apparently grabs her.

Liz and Jason fans have been rooting for a romantic reunion for years, but the show hasn’t seemed very interested in making it happen.

Could that change following Elizabeth’s split from Finn? Will Jason and Liz shippers finally get the good news they’ve been waiting for?

Time will tell, but Jake might find himself rooting for his parents to have a real future together if their bond deepens.

That could lead to some conflict with Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), who’d probably rather see Jason reunite with Sam instead!
