General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Janis Paige has passed away at the age of 101, so her fans are thinking back on all her incredible roles over the years. Paige was a GH alum, so you might remember her from her role as Iona Huntington if you’re a long-time viewer.
The character was featured in 40 episodes from 1989 to 1990, so Paige made her mark as Iona and will always be part of the GH family.
In addition to Paige’s General Hospital run, she also had a stint on Capitol and was especially known for her time on Santa Barbara.
Of course, Janie Paige’s work certainly wasn’t limited to the world of daytime!
Paige has over 100 screen credits to her name – starting with her first role in Bathing Beauty back in 1944.
Paige went on to star in plenty of other films and television shows in the decades that would follow.
It’s clear that Paige was a talented actress with the ability to fit into many genres.

On social media, people have been paying tribute to Paige for her contributions to the acting world – including Kin Shriner (Scott Baldwin), who made a sweet post about his former co-star on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“RIP to Janis Paige had the pleasure of working with her on a couple soaps she always had a story or 2 and I relished them !!!” Shriner said after hearing the news of her demise.
