General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) could be playing with fire now that she’s decided to hire Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) as her new receptionist. Of course, answering phones and taking down messages is simple enough, but Esme’s track record makes her a liability no matter what the job is.
Will Alexis come to regret hiring Esme? That depends on whether Esme reverts to bad behavior since that could happen with or without her memories.
Now that GH writers are sliding Esme into a new environment, we have to consider where the story might go from here.
We can think of at least one way that the show might put Esme to the test.
As The Invader’s receptionist, Esme may have opportunities to overhear things that she shouldn’t.
It’s easy to imagine Esme eavesdropping outside Alexis’ office if a conversation pops up that she’s intrigued by.
There might even be a situation where Esme accidentally overhears something through no fault of her own.
Either way, Esme may learn a major secret and leave Alexis worried that she might spill it.
Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) doesn’t want anyone besides Alexis to know about his ALS aka Lou Gehrig’s disease diagnosis.
Maybe Esme will become privy to Gregory’s private battle during one of his upcoming visits to see Alexis.
If so, Alexis might realize Esme found out something not meant for her ears.
Perhaps Alexis could push Esme to keep a lid on this and then worry about her potentially leaking that info.
If Esme keeps the news to herself, that could go a long way toward establishing trust with Alexis and could put her on the road to a promotion.
Then again, if Esme tries to use the info to her advantage in a subtle blackmail scenario, things may not go well for her!
It’s even possible Esme will inadvertently spill too much in some scenario with a curious Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) or Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) – though that might actually work out OK since Gregory needs to be honest with them anyway.
Regardless, Gregory will inevitably stop by The Invader and lean on Alexis again, so it’s reasonable to assume Esme might snoop and figure out what he’s hiding.
What Esme does with that information could play a role in what’s next for her character.

General Hospital Update: Thursday, May 18 – Curtis Panics to Jordan – Molly’s Baby-Making Setback – Alexis’ Late Invite
General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Thursday, May 18, teases that Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) will grill Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) about her connection to Selina Wu (Lydia Look) since he assumes Selina’s got some sort of dirt on her.
In reality, it was Holly who sought out Selina to put a pathogen in Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) drink.
Holly offered up a piece of the Ice Princess in exchange, so she knew exactly what she was doing.
The fact that Robert’s acting like she’s helpless may irritate Holly and create issues that drive them further apart.
Holly doesn’t want to get Robert involved in anything illegal that might come back to haunt him anyway.
With that in mind, Holly may accept this reunion isn’t going to happen and leave Port Charles to help Ethan Lovett (James Ryan) settle his debts.
At The Invader, Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) will voice her concerns about Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) having a hidden agenda.
Although Esme has accepted the receptionist job, she’ll have some questions and will need Alexis’ reassurance that this is truly about the road to independence.
Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will get updates on Esme’s new position during a visit to Alexis’ office, so she’ll flip out since Esme isn’t exactly known around town for her trustworthiness.
Esme doesn’t remember her past, but she could still backslide with some bad behavior.
Sam will want Alexis to remember that and will worry Alexis could pay the price for hiring Esme sooner or later.
Alexis will ultimately turn her attention to an invitation, so this should tie in with Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) will reading and the gathering that’ll go along with it.
At GH, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) will fret over the DNA test and wonder if it was a good idea to go through with it.
Selina’s offer to tamper with the results will leave Curtis spooked and second-guessing his decision.
Fortunately, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) will be there to talk panicked Curtis off the ledge – and she’ll most likely congratulate him on his chance to work for the WSB as well.
Next, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) will have another moment of inspiration in Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) presence, so he’ll vow to put an end to something.
It sounds like Spencer will keep scheming to score custody of Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) and push Esme out of the picture, but he’ll have to be careful about his upcoming moves.
In the meantime, Spencer may celebrate the fact that Esme’s mind will be on her new job instead of just Ace.
There may also be an argument about Esme’s desire to put Ace in daycare since Spencer may want to take care of him instead.
Back at GH, Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) will be filled with fear as she awaits fertility test results in an exam room.
TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) will apparently deliver them, so Molly’s about to be dealt a difficult blow.
